We went to church with Steve/Margaret and Lincoln/Lindsay's family, who arrived late last night. Then after church the rest of the family began to trickle in. Everyone was there for dinner except the James/Rebecca family. There were lots of hugs and chatter. The men played a light hearted Sunday-like soccer game on the front lawn, where Aaron hyper-extended his knee. Stinky timing.
Cameron, upon seeing Adam said, "Daddy?"..."Two Daddies!"
I am glad we arrived a day before the rest of the party so we can settle in and enjoy some one on one time with Steve and Margaret. We went for a nice walk this morning along with a couple of trips on the train. Mary and Noah went fishing with Aaron and Grandpa. We swam at Zermatt and went to dinner at Don Pedros (the site of our first official date--where it all started for our little family). Following that we headed to one of the Homestead's free outdoor concerts. It was some light Blue grass and it was oh so fun, even with the unique lyrics like, "If I were a zombie I would not eat your brain."
It's going to be an awesome week.
We left at 4:30 am, Oregon time and arrive at 6:00 pm, Utah time. It was a good trip. The kids were pretty happy and they took turns sleeping on and off in the car. Grammie had a delicious dinner waiting and we played outside for the entire evening--train rides, trampoline, swings. and baseball. The grass in front of the house looks incredible.
I was done with last minute errands and packing by noon today. I even had time to clean the house and go to bed at a decent hour. I am usually so rushed at the end. I have no idea why it was so easy this time. Maybe the kids are getting older so they can play more independently while I pack? Whatever the reason....I like the feeling. Hope tomorrow goes well!
Laundry. Packing. Cleaning. Shopping. That's what I'm doing today. Getting excited for Utah!
Aaron took the kids swimming at the Harnois' tonight while I worked. So helpful!
Nicole spends hours every day carrying Barbie's around and engaging in imaginary conversations. She loves to play with Aaron when he comes home from work. It is the most darling thing to listen to. Tomorrow I will be sure to get it recorded. Her two favorite girls are named Lil lil and Lily.
This whole no nap thing is driving us crazy. Friday Cameron fell asleep in the cart at Costco....today, on the floor. On Sunday he fell asleep while sitting up and eating lunch. If he does take a nap it takes him hours to go to bed. He is even having a hard time going to sleep if he doesn't get a nap. I am so sad to see my easy sleeper change his routine. It was 9:30 tonight when he finally stopped getting out of his bed. I am getting nervous that our trip to Utah may make things worse, especially since it got really bad when our AC broke last week and he was sleeping in our cooler bedroom downstairs. If he wasn't so cute I could be really bugged with him.
