Regionals, here we come!

Mary's braid was especially looking cool today. She looks good with a crown.

Noah's OBOB team won, which means that his team will be playing Mary's at finals tomorrow. Since I coach both teams, I will be bringing one of them to regionals on the 18th. These kiddos are so excited; they've worked really hard and have won a lot of battles!

Noah's team got together after school at Christine's do practice questions. This is serious stuff, people.

Another win!

Noah's OBOB team won today, which means one more battle until the finals on Wednesday. It may just be that I will have both of my kids' teams playing each other!

Eight is SO Great!

Nicole made it home in time for her Eight is Great meeting after church. I seriously can't believe she'll be baptized this year. So glad these girls are home.

Almost all of Nikki's class, just missing Madison, and her awesome teacher!

The Little Things

I've decided that it's the little things...done every day, that are really important.

I often find myself thinking...if I just do one load of laundry each day, or wipe down a bathroom every morning, dust this, organize a little of that, read my scriptures, exercise, eat right, say my prayers, work a little on my calling, help others, practice music, write one blog post...simple tasks done everyday would keep me on track and keep things from piling up.

Consistently doing those small things lead to great things...a clean house, a healthy body and spirit, developed talents, and love and beauty in the home, wards, and communities. I'm always trying to squeeze in all the littles, somedays I have to choose the most important because life just doesn't allow for them all.

But I have seen that "By small and simple things great things are brought to pass."

Slow, small, and steady.

The Cherry on Top

They both won their battles at school today. Noah's team is 2-1. Mary's team is 3-0. I'm worried they will win the entire tournament and we'll end up having to prepare to go to regionals. Can I be happy and sad? I wanted them to do well, but if they stay undefeated they will be representing our school and I'll be the person coaching them. (I'm lazy!) I can't believe all they can remember from these books. It's unbelievable. Even I can't recall the details from these stories.

The girls left for Bend with Justin and Tiffany around noon. They are going to Annie's basketball tournament and invited the cousins for a fun girls trip. Cameron celebrated his 100th day of school and last day of Doctor Seuss week by wearing lots of pockets, 9 in fact! His class wore 182 pockets to school. And I watched Erin's little guy, Theo, all day while she was out of town. His brothers joined us after school until their dad came to get them and Noah headed to his piano recital.

The cherry on top of this stacked up busy day was a wonderful date night with my love.

2-0 and 1-1

Mary won her second battle today, Noah's team lost by one question. He was pretty disappointed, even during the reading event his teacher put on in his class afterwards. Life lessons.

OBOB Battles

Mary turned in her book report this morning (glad that's done). I met with Noah and Mary's Battle of the Books teams yesterday. They both won their first battles today. It was pretty exciting. After school we watched the Sumner boys while their parents packed up.
