My calling on the public affairs committee had me involved in a special project. This sweet sister in our stake wanted to help refugees. On her own she put together a household supply drive for refugees living in the Portland area. My other friend, also in our stake and a stranger to this woman, put together a free concert of classical music and inspiring narratives to increase awareness and understanding for refugees and immigrants. Knowing about both of these special community efforts we put the two in touch with each other and helped with the promotion of the beautiful community experience that culminating in this supply drive today. I have been touched by the way these busy mothers have felt inspired to reach out and actually do something about it. There's a lot of goodness in the world today.

Chicken Canon
These friends are so creative! Since school got out they have played Bean Boozled, games on the trampoline, baked cookies, and created a chicken canon from a toilet paper roll, balloons, and cotton balls. And it's super cute too.

Nerdy Birdies
Elise and Noah have come up with a business. They are selling peeps with nerds attached and calling them Nerdy Birdies. Noah and Elise have been texting drawings of birds to make their ad and business plans all day. I love Noah's little sketches. They are always so cute (and way better than anything I can draw).

Came Home to This
We got back late last night and I kind of slowly got back into the groove of things today. The pool is coming along.
