Be Still

Tonight we celebrated finishing the Book of Mormon as a family. We've read it several times together, but now that our kids are a little older it seems a little more meaningful. Most family home evenings we are desperately trying to get the children to stop talking and moving. Nicole chatted through most of the lesson tonight. She usually has a lot to say...except when I watch her do this...then she's quiet as a mouse. I can only imagine the prickles she'll feel when she moves the arm that's all twisted and smooshed. I'm sure she'll wake up and tell me all about it.

Brunch with J

Upon seeing J.P., Cameron tapped his knee and said, "You really big." Then he asked him to make a funny face. And he did. He's a very sweet young man. The kids loved trying on his size 16 shoe.

Emma's Prom

We sold almost everything at the garage sale today. Between soccer games, soccer pictures, baby showers, birthday parties, and the garage sale it was seriously busy. Emma was also busy entertaining her prom date who flew into town last night. I don't think I should put a picture of J.P., her date, on the internet. He's that famous in a basketball sort of way. Anyway, here's one of the girls. Isn't Emma's modesty so refreshing? I can't wait to hear all about it.

Marble Season

It's May and it's marble season at the Elementary school. This means that the kids are also playing marbles at home, non stop. Cameron joined in the fun and spent some time separating the the daddy marbles from the rest. It's nice this kept them busy so Aaron and I could gather and haul all our stuff to Justin's for the city-wide garage sale tomorrow. We have a lot of junk. A lot of it is baby paraphernalia, which would be so nice to get rid of!

The Crew

Today was my last day teaching joy school.  It's been a wonderful experience. My favorite part has been seeing Nicole so excited to participate. I created a joy school memory book this week to give out at the end of the year. Mixed in with all our friendship themed activities I had the joy schoolers fill out some information about themselves. I'm including a picture of the whole crew on one of the pages. What cuties!

That was fast...

When Aaron got home from work this evening Nicole asked if he could take off the training wheels on her bike and teach her how to ride unassisted. I barely had time to warm the bread for the ward youth auction, when the kids came running in that she could already ride a two-wheeler. I stepped out and sure enough she was riding all by herself. Wow! I think she learned so quickly cuz Aaron is always taking the kids on bike rides, Aaron is a really good teacher, and I think there may be some Nadauld gene that makes them good at riding just about anything. I wish I had grabbed a closer picture..her face was priceless.

Bike Mania and Joy School

The kids are loving this hot weather (it's 90 degrees out there--my allergies are starting to kick in...although it's been very mild this year---Hallelujah). Today they spent most of the day riding bikes. Cameron likes to ride down the driveway with his feet up on his bike handles. Mary is loving her new birthday bike and the kids spend every minute riding together. I taught joy school today. It's my final rotation. I decided to do a friendship theme since artists were already covered in the previous art theme. It's nice to be checking things off my forever to do list. Sometimes I have to remember to enjoy the ride.

Mary also won her battle of the books today. She tied with another group for first place. Boy was she excited!
