Circus Circus

This weekend we went with the Idiart cousins to the local circus. It was a little bit of a let down for someone who is used to seeing Barnum and Bailey Circus. But I guess that's what you get in a small town. The only animal they had was a miniature horse. I was hoping for a lion, tiger, or elephant or something a little more exotic than a little horse. I actually think a dog would have done better tricks than the pony. It would make a complete stop for about ten seconds before it began to hop over a little hurdle. I don't know why, but when I go to things like that I start to worry for the family that puts on the circus... like do they know that their circus isn't great? Do they make enough money to support their family? Are they happy traveling so much? I shouldn't complain, because any time together is always a good time. Mary still had a lot of fun because all of her cousins were there. To top the afternoon off we went to McDonald's for dinner and had happy meals.

And it's... Roseola!

Our little eight-month-old Noah has had a rough start with one illness after another. He has been pretty healthy lately, a true miracle, especially while we were on our trip to the Bahamas. Unfortunately, it all came back two weeks ago when two enormous teeth were beginning to pop through (we are thinking he may be buck-toothed). We even took Noah to the doctor to see if he had another ear infection because he kept tugging at his ear. It turns out that his ears were perfectly fine, so we attributed his fever and unusual cranky behavior to teething. In two days his two front teeth finally erupted through very tender mountains of gum. He was beginning to act happy and pleasant again when he developed a rash all over. It's Roseola or baby chicken pox, nothing major! So, just one more funny thing to add to his crazy beginning. I've decided that having sick children is hard because you worry so much for how they are coping with pain and discomfort. I pray that our children will never be diagnosed with some major illness; I can't imagine the heartache it would bring. I am really grateful for being able to love and mother Noah and Mary. They make my life so full and happy. What a true joy they are!

World's Greatest Dad

I have wondered if we place as much emphasis on Father's Day as we do on Mother's Day, because we all know how very important they equally are. So, I decided I wanted to honor the amazing father in our home on this special day. So here's to you Aaron... The Top Ten Reasons Why Aaron Dyreng Nadauld is the World's Greatest Dad:

10. He is always willing to help dress the children.

9. His lawn is always mowed with perfect lines.

8. He is always doing something to improve our home (some bigger than others).

7. He loves to spend time with us all, make us laugh, and have fun.

6. He is ambitious, supports our family so well, and teaches his children the value of hard work.

5. He makes anything look good (it is such a blessing to know that our kids will be good looking like their daddy).

4. He holds strong to the Iron Rod and loves the Lord.

3. He is always serving and thinking of others.

2. He leads with love and patience.

1. Most of all, he makes his wife happy! (even if it means dressing up in dorky costumes, this is very important).
